If you’re looking for a relatively easy Indian dessert recipe, this is a great one! It only involves four ingredients (I count the nuts as one ingredient because you can make this with just one type if you prefer) and comes together in 20 minutes 🙌🏼 An easy shortcut if you only want to use almonds is to use store-bought almond meal to cut your prep time in half!
Mixed Nut Burfi
Servings: 12
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup raw almonds
- 1/2 cup raw cashews
- 1/2 cup pistachios
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/8 tsp cardamom
- 1 tbsp melted butter or ghee optional
Instructions
- Blend the nuts into a flour-like consistency. A few larger pieces are fine!
- Bring the heavy cream and sugar to a simmer.
- Add the nuts and mix.
- Add the butter and cardamom and fully combine.
- Continue to mix over medium-low heat until the mixture thickens (you should be able to form a non-sticky ball with greased hands).
- Transfer to a parchment paper-lined pan or tray and smooth out.
- Decorate with sprinkles/chopped nuts/silver leaf and enjoy!!
