Preheat your oven to 375F.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
Grate in your cold butter and use your hands to incorporate it into the flour mixture.
Add the cubed apple and use a spatula to mix until well distributed.
Add in the buttermilk and mix again, using your hands to fold everything together.
Transfer your dough to a lined baking sheet and press into a 8” x 7” rectangle.
Cut into 9 squares/rectangles and cut each one in half diagonally.
Spread your scones about 1/2-1” apart on your baking sheet and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for another 10 minutes before transferring to a rack to cool completely.
While the scones cool, mix the powdered sugar and apple cider together to form your icing.
Drizzle the icing over the cooled scones and enjoy!
