Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cold salted butter
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves

For the glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375℉.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Grate in the butter and mix with your hands until well distributed.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, milk, and spices.
  • Add the pumpkin mixture to the flour mixture and fold to combine. Knead only until the flour has been incorporated!
  • Transfer the dough to your lined baking sheet and press into 1 inch tall rectangle (should be about 8” x 6”).
  • Cut into 9 squares and cut each square in half diagonally.
  • Spread the scones out on your baking sheet (about 1 inch apart) and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Allow to cool for 15 minutes on the tray before transferring to a rack to cool completely.
  • While the scones cool, whisk together your glaze ingredients until smooth. Add in a little more water as needed to thin it out to a spreadable consistency.
  • Dip your cooled scones into the glaze and allow to set for 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
